Having had my old canon powershot A70 (great camera but bit bulky by todays standards) pinched whilst on holiday I am in the market for a replacement.
Ideally I would like to stay with canon as I was impressed with the last one and have the software on my comp for it.
So a friend recommended this model the IXS750 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000B5O08M/026-9465527-2517226?v=glance&n=560798&s=gateway&v=glance
is it any good?
My budget is upto £260 and I would like to include a 1gb card and case. Any other recommendations or cracking bargains about at the moment?
Thx in advance for any help. Regards Huggins

I recently bought a camera in that kind of price range.
I too have enjoyed my Canon Ixus's, I could only fault them on their battery life. Camera's I looked at were:
- Canon Ixus 60/65
- Canon Ixus 750
- Canon Ixus 800 (was a bit to pricey for me, over £280)
- Sony T9 (my flatmate has one)
- Casio EX Z750
- Casio EX Z850
I went for the Casio EX Z850 in the end. Excellent camera and it gets very good reviews (in fact all of the above do). I chose it because of its features, there are plenty of settings and manual options, far more than most other point and shoots. Also it has a huge battery life, 3x that of the Canon's.
If you're looking for, quite literally a point and shoot for nights out the T9 is very good. It's small and has the lowest low shutter lag. Although from using my flatmates I preferred the Canon's and Casio's for more general use.
The Canon's are nice. I preferred the 800 because it had Image Stabilisation, but it's too expensive. I preferred the Ixus 60/65 to the 750. They're slightly smaller and newer in build. It came down to chosing between the Ixus 60 or 65 and Casion EX Z850 for me.
Best thing to do is go to a shop and have a play around with them. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the above, it just depends upon your needs.
I personally can highly recommend the Casio EX Z850. The only issue I've had so far is that the images can sometimes be quite noisy when looking closely (too sharp) but I found out how to change that in the camera settings."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

I just went to Amazon:

I find their camera prices to be very good, for both the Canon's and the Casio Z850. Plus I've always been happy with Amazon's service.
The Z850 takes an SD card. I bought a 1gb one from Amazon too for about £17.
The only annoying thing I found with all the above camera's is the proprietary connector. Very annoying, I wish manfucturers would try to use mini usb, or standard usb connectors on the camera's. It means my desk is littered with different cables, plus if I need a new one it's more costly.
The Ixus 60 or 65 is a good choice and well priced. The battery life is what put me off (it's quite bad on my older Ixus too) but that may not be of concern to others."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
