Help needed - temporary insurance

New user here so be gentle with me!!

Does anyone know of any insureance companies that will insure a driver who has a foreign licence (american) and has only been a UK resident for 6 months? May only need insureance for a month or so until car is sold on.

Hi there

One thing you may not know is that you can only drive in the UK with a non EU/EEA license for 12 months. Within that time, you have to pass the UK test if you want to continue driving.

In the meantime, try Adrian Flux and see if they can help. I don't work for them, but I do know they have lots of specialist schemes. You may need to insure for the year and accept that if you cancel after a month you are going to be lucky to get half the premium back - USA license holders are not generally viewed as a good risk!!
