Microsoft Office

Hi , my DD (typical teenager) has just announced that microsoft office on her lappy was a free trial and has run out - if i don't use my card and pay to download it now she will fail her course and it will all be my fault :o

Anyone know a cheap, quick and legal way of getting this programme ? I could kick myself as I have bought it in the past and lent it out - not got it back of course ! I saw it in PC World last night but i'm really skint and its just too expensive.

Thanks for any help :)

  • Use OpenOffice at OpenOffice.org.(3.2 version) Its free to use and will get you out of trouble for as long as you need. It has done all I have needed. This should keep her happy until you decide what to do.

not sure if this is of any help for the short term but you can download microsoft office 10 - Beta for free on trial period, i have been using for around 2 months now and its good here is link if you need it.

    http://www.microsoft.com/office/2010/en/download-office-professional-plus/default.aspx

P.S you will need to register/sign up if not already done so but its free to do.

i think that your copy of office can be loaded legally on to 3 computers , so you may be able to enter the registration key , if your friend and yourself have both loaded it , then there should be one licence left . get the reg code , should be on the box if your friend still has it and then enter it , if it is legit then it should work ok

If Openoffice isn't good enough. As your daughter is a student, register her on this site and you can buy MS office 2007 standard for £38.99.

There are often hugely discounted prices for students.

    As here

Never used this company, so can't vouch for them.

    Good luck

I've used them many times and can vouch they are very good (note you dont get a big retail box with a manual and DVDs, you just get a DVD in a plastic envelope, doesn't bother me, but I thought I'd mention it so people don't get a shock).

Microsoft Ultimate Steal is also an option. I think it's software download with a DVD version being extra.

I have used the software4students a few times and the products are excellent and delivered very quickly. As markee says it just arrives very plainly packaged but it is cheap and it does work
