Yes try rentguard http://www.rentguard.co.uk/Pages/cheaplandlordsinsurance.htm
they have a 90 day unoccupancy limit they may be able to cover you - I'm not sure if they deal direct with the public or only through brokers though

Hi neilo
You need to ensure you are covered for buildings insurance, tools, eqpt on loan/hire, public liability imdemnity and of course to have all fittings covered whilst the site is 'uninhabited'. (kitchen, bathroom, boiler/rads etc etc)
I have known of cases where rads, boilers, kitchen etc have been ripped out by 'burglars'. nice !! On my latest development I installed a full burglar alarm with autodialer so it calls my mobile/home line if the alarm is activated.
Very handy if you are within a few miles of the site.
Anyway worth having a word with

Hope this helps.
