There doesn’t appear to be an email address to write to complain on BT’s website, typical of BT, but there is “Live Chat” in the Contact BT section. I used Live Chat when I had a query regarding my final bill after leaving BT for TalkTalk. In fairness to BT, I must say I found this to perform very well indeed.
After you’ve finished with the online Live Chat you’re sent an email from BT Customer Services with a summary of the whole chat. which you can keep for your records. If the issue isn’t resolved to your satisfaction, you can reopen it within the next 7 days.
The address on the email that BT Customer Service sent the summary is bt_com_openworld_support@mailuk.custhelp.com You may care to try this first.0 -
The e mail part of their site worked for me today.
I find it quite irritating that when you use that service and they reply you by e mail you cannot respond to the reply.

Hi Waterwatcher,
If you drop an email to the email address included in the above post, I will be happy to take a look at this for you. Please include your BT account details and your Forum username.
Cheers

I am the official company representative of BT. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
I wasn’t aware of this restriction because I haven’t used that part of BT’s service. The trouble with many large companies with millions of customers is that they tend to see us all as millions of small dots and not as the people we actually are. Nothing can perhaps be more frustrating for a customer than to receive an emailed response from a company to which the customer is denied a right of reply. This kind of stupidity is exactly the sort of thing that helps drive customers away BT in sheer annoyance. The e mail part of their site worked for me today.

I must say, I have had very prompt reply to my complaint and I am pleased with the response from a very nice chap Jim Gallagher who took the time to phone and listen. In fact he was so nice, I felt it was inappropriate to winge."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Thank you everyone, I finally managed to get my complaint through late last night, I will wait and see how that goes, if I have no luck I will come back to you again Paddy (BT Rep). How long should I have to wait for a reply?0

Really? The e mail part of their site worked for me today.
I find it quite irritating that when you use that service and they reply you by e mail you cannot respond to the reply.
I have used that system a number of times and, invariably, the (Indian?) responder does not answer the question/point raised.
I just click Reply and ask them to re-read and re-answer.
They do (and very quickly too).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
