I'm with everyone else - it's your day, therefore you do what you want. I'm not likely to get married for a good few years but working on a bar for a hotel that pretty much had the monopoly on weddings in the area taught me a lot about what I do and don't want, and I am 90% certain that I'm having a late wedding and a buffet,"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

If favours and a sit down meal isn't 'your thing' then why worry about it?
Be true to yourself, do what will please you and your OH and have a great time!
Some people like these things and look fab but if it's not you then you will be conscious of it all day

We only decided on a sit-down "traditional" reception because we went to a lovely wedding last year that changed our minds

I am doing favours, but we're having the more traditional 5 sugared almonds in a tiny box, for the 40 guests at our wedding breakfast
We have plenty of quirky things going on that will remain secret until the big day

I'm not doing any of those!
We're having no favours, mainly because we're not having a sit down meal.
Our wedding will be at 3pm, so reception straight after with buffet.
We're not having grooms side/brides side, people will sit where they want.
We're having two 'first' dances.
I am doing a speach and the best man isn't! lol
We're not having cars, our venue is a 2 minute walk from the ceremony so people will be walking there! lol
We're inviting the same people to the ceremony and reception, no extra numbers later on.
You do what you want to do, it really doesn't matter. If you did what was expected, and everything exactly the same as everyone else it would be boring! lol Every single wedding has something different, there are no two that are the same.

Have you invited anyone with a nut allergy? Just being in a room with people eating almonds would have me shipped off to hospital!I am doing favours, but we're having the more traditional 5 sugared almonds in a tiny box, for the 40 guests at our wedding breakfast
