Howdens kitchen

There are millions of Howdens threads on here and after reading everything, and looking in showrooms we've decided to go for a Howden's kitchen. Went in today to finalise our kitchen and get the quote and the staff were umming about ordering times etc. From what I can gather, my preference for the kitchen is rumoured to be discontinuing soon. Bearing in mind we might have to get the door fronts delivered and stored before we can get the kitchen fitted, and the fact that we wont be able to replace anything should it get damaged - should we still go for this choice? By the sounds of it they aren't going to be able to do any major discounts on it regardless, as it is not sale time.
I don't want to name the kitchen in case this doesn't happen and I've put my foot in it, but I'm not happy with other kitchens in the similar price bracket. This is not our "forever" home, so I don't need to worry too much about adding additional units years down the line as we don't intend living here past 5 years.

I love surprises!

If you like it, go for it. Especially as it's not your "forever" home.
You mentioned not being able to replace anything as it's being discontinued. Is that likely ie do you have a house full of dogs, three year olds and someone who likes taking motorbikes apart on the kitchen table? If not, it probably won't be an issue.0 -
Hi Maggie, I finished fitting a Howdens kitchen today and the local rep popped in to see me.He was saying they are trimming the number of kitchens because of the amount of stock they need to keep at the branches. He also said they were introducing some new kitchens too.
There are always mixed views on Howdens and I have to say I've always had good service from them. The kitchen i'm fitting at the moment went fine but I was 600mm short on the cornice,I phoned them last night and 10am this morning the rep was there with the extra length. Will just add in my experience its rare to have anything missing..Credit where credits due
PS I must just say though their worktops are not great.......0
