Sports Direct Still Crap

Hi all,
Word of warning on store-policy [at the Eastbourne store at least.]
I knew their no-refund policy prior to taking a pair of trainers I purchased on Saturday back. The store was busy. I waited 25 minutes to attract an assistant, and another 10 whilst a minion found the shoes from stock.
I bought them without trying them on. Mistake.
On opening box at home, the stitching on the heel of the left shoe looked as if it had been purposely unpicked.
I took them straight back yesterday for a refund. I was refused. The reason:
"We'll just put them back on the shelves and sell them again, they're good enough to sell".
!!!!!!?!
I pointed out I considered they were "not fit for purpose" and muttered something about "statutory rights" at which point the manager said, "fine. We'll bin them then. Run them through as code XXX*".
I got my refund. I purchased an identical pair from a direct competitor at £15 more.
Sports Direct. Avoid.
*probably means "never accept that debit card again. Ever.

Need I say more lol, He's all about making as much money as possible, so I'm guessing his staff are on minimum wage, and as such probably don't care too much about upsetting customers.0 -
