Had an unexpected MSE moment this afternoon accumulating £7 of lovely Advantage points courtesy of Mr B and 3 separate coupons, buying a birthday pres for OH in the process and saving £12.34 on it to boot. Am also so well stocked up now on 3 for 2 toothpaste, mouthwash, bubbles and 'lady things' I may never need to venture back! :p (hurriedly scoots over to 'no more toiletries' thread to be de-programmed!)

Hello all - am new to this thread so hope I can join in..

Today got off my backside and :

    - phoned mobile phone provider, found I was already out of contract and so got a 'loyalty' reduction from £35pm to £10pm plus new handset..result
    - had lunch at home using leftovers
    - checked internet bank again - daily event now:(
    - activated my new credit card for work expenses that has cashback..as always pay off every month in full it should be fine and free money is the goal
    - stashed 4x£2coins in savings jar:beer: all from a single day's haul..not bad (and very lucky)
    - AND wow... OH listed 2 ebay items. Here's hoping.

No spend for me today but OH spent at that big blue and yellow Swedish place on storage and a bit at the hardware store but it was all agreed beforehand and amazingly he did not stray from our agreed list of a week ago!! We are learning... he must be MSE without knowing it!!

  • Welcome to brizzledfw :)

Tonight I let my spare room!! Woo hoo - he's moving at the weekend and we're just goign to do week/week as I have it available for 3 months and not the year he's after - so he needs to find somewhere more permanent.

    Yippee - £75 extra pounds a week!

  • Hi everyone, sounds like there has been loads going on for everyone, and some poorly people out there, so i hope they are soon better :)

Today hasn't been very mse. I went out to lunch with bezzie mate, was planned and budgeted for though. Came back to mine and cuppa and natter.:D

Had to cancel Rainbows as other leader was poorly and was too late to get another body, which was a bit of shame.:(

So I am now having a relaxing evening in the pyjamas and the pink spotted dressing gown.

I have just about suceeded in eating the freezer to empty, just have frozen fruit to last through to the next crop, so that has saved some money and meant I have space to buy/cook some bulk bits and save some pennies.:j

Tomorrow must send out invoices so I get some money in. So not too long lying in bed:rotfl:
My finances are work in progress.
    Normal veiwing will resume shortly

    Hey All :)

A few lil things for me today:
    - worked hard for my pennies at the office
    - Low Spend Day - just daily bus ticket at £4.30
    - meals from freezer
    - checked banking (I now have the huge amount of £3 in my account) -- hiss and boo !
    - scratchies and clicks done
    - checked for freebies
    - good deed done (gave my freebie lip gloss to a colleague)
    - using up random/Xmas gift toiletries
    - surveys done
    - use free texts to badger OH (isn't that what they are for.... ?)
    - returned book lent to me by a colleague
    - entered some daily comps

    I think that's it
am doing quite well with stretching my last few pounds out until payday on Friday.

    Go me !

Hi there, my god its cold today. I wasnt very good yesterday as my freind asked me to go to PC world with her yesterday via the shopping mall and aldi . The aldi buys were things i needed anyway but spent £15 on snacks and coffee in the mall which i didn't need to be doing just before payday.

    Today I have / will :
    • checked online banking - need to really breath in now !
    • do batch cooking that I was supposed to do yesterday - done tons ! Can't believe how far a chicken can stretch. Have had to give 2 portions away as it won't fit in freezer and can't possibly eat it all.
    • hokey cokey dry on airers - one load done
    • competitions - just a few dailys , i need a win :o
    • surveys - just one , made a mistake on another which was a shame as i would have been able to claim a reward.
    • meals from plan -yummy chow mein
    • really needs to be a nsd today - just
    • fit widget that came in post to shower to reduce water useage.- hopefuly after holby when i have a shower.
    • try contacting college again to book cheap facial- All done , eyebrow wax £3 , facial £7 next week
    • keep in contact with freinds and family through free texts, free calls , email and facebook. - lots of chatting little action:o
Think thats all for today. will be glad when this month is over but staying positive :)

Answered a couple of messages on ebay , think i may have some problems coming up with a buyer from russia , don't know how they got through as I double checked and I only agreed to send uk , ireland , france and germany - think ill stick to ebid if this goes belly up.

DD came back from college and announced that she needed microsoft office immediatley or she would fail her course and it would all be my fault :( Suggested she ask her dad to contribute but no. Anyway nice people on tech boards gave me some pointers on how to get free downoads, what a ovely place this is :T

breakfast and lunch from stores done!
going to mums on way back from work to deliver avon and have dinner done and mum gave me corned beef for sarnies and dad gave me £1 for no reason :)
not text anyone - use FB when back home had to text as someone invited me to dinner tomorrow :T
heating still stuck on low constantly so washing on airers all dry - got to put away now
cats have had tesco food this morning they were hungry when i got in and stole my corned beef  lucky it was still in plastic bag so safe for my sarnies :rotfl:
depending on how i feel may do some cleaning when i get home done a bit of tidying - trying to locate cats protection paperwork that has gone missing and am not having any success - may give up and watch holby

off to shower and finish getting ready :)
