When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :D

LIttlemisschocolate - Hoovering BEFORE work OMG - well done

    Today for me

I'm up early (having trouble sleeping so look tired but a bit more perky today)
Had two shredded wheat with a black banana which was (despite DD's face) OK and lovely inside
Put all the lids back on the bottles of shampoo I filled up and allowed to drip out the last of the bits last night
DO NOT buy any more toiltetries - having tidied out the drawers last night we've enough shampoo/liquid soap/conditioner/babywipes for about 6 months (or maybe longer!!!!)
GOt to pot up the ratatouie into tubs and freeze it
    Pork stir fry for tea
Must phone and pay logs on CC and then make sure pay the whole balance again at end of month to improve credit score!
Lovely day - try to go beach with dog at lunch
Hokey cokeys and hang up (not sure about outside as we're thick with snow here)
    Feed chookie
Pay BT extra BB bill - I've fought with them and lost lost lost - but I have given it a good shot (£120 )
Look to see if I can go and visit OH - his sis is really poorly so he can't come up
Try NOT to obsess about new houses, try not to obesess about new houses (sign the lease on Friday - its gorgeous and with amazing views)
Spoke to my LL last night here and he's happy for us to move whenever suits us - so will do a serious think about the logisitcs of lodgers etc which are comign over June/July
Probably out in the field later as its so still
Must do some writing - um none much done so far (whoops)
Check if SIL went into O2 shop and paid to fix Iphone
    Charge camera battery at work
Photos on FB - from DD to let daddy in France see them - cheaper than lots of phone calls :)
Sparkle :) spring is around the corner (under the snow)

Thats me for today - I painted my toenails lime green last night after a lovely bubbly bath
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

Busy at work just now which means I'm gonna be out and about in the sunshine all day :rotfl:so quick update before I go.

    Today I have done/will do:
    - check internet banking (in overdraft - nooooooo!!!!) but....
    - ....phoned evil bank about the loan payment they incorrectly took from my account - finally in the process of being refunded so there should be £200 back in there in the next couple of days :T

    - LSD - need something for dinner and spent £3.50 on some make up samples
    - do some writing although not sure I'll have time for this
    - dr's appointment in the afternoon but can use work van to get there as I'll be out in it anyway, which saves on my petrol

Miserable day here, it's drizzling and cold :( Should feel lucky I'm in the warm at home! Still reeling over the £2500 I discovered in childcare vouchers yesterday, it's like finding an old bank account you never knew you had! :)

    Anyway, list for today:
    - Surveys, these have been few and far between recently
    - LSD, just sausages for dinner
    - Mum picking DD up from nursery and taking her home, looking after her tomorrow
    - Got water bill yesterday, didn't realise you get 2 months off! That's £50 to go in the pot! Although it's gone up by 80p per month
    - Keep eye on ebay
    - Update owing spreadsheet
    - Check online banking

    That's it for me!
    Have a good day all!
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

Today is meant to be my college evening at 2pm but at the moment i have a poorly little girl at home :( DD was 7 on saturday and then sunday morning had a bad headache and was sick in the evening. She has had the headache ever since and has a really high temp :( So if she is still bad later i will be home all day!

    Today
    - housework
    - list some bits on ebay which i cleared from the shed
    - Look at quotes for contents insurance quick look last night showed i can get it for at least £7 cheaper a month
    - Go into the loft to store a few bits that were getting damp in the shed
    - Do my homework for my AAT course incase i do go this afternoon!!!!
    - find homes for my DD's presents which are still sitting in the lounge
    - go on the cross trainer for half an hour

Mogchop - i hope your daughter has a great 7th birthday. I was lucky that my DD's was on saturday so she was at home....every year her birthday has fallen in half term which is handy!

I hope everyone has a great day :)

  • Hi there, my god its cold today. I wasnt very good yesterday as my freind asked me to go to PC world with her yesterday via the shopping mall and aldi . The aldi buys were things i needed anyway but spent £15 on snacks and coffee in the mall which i didn't need to be doing just before payday.

    Today I have / will :
    • checked online banking - need to really breath in now !
    • do batch cooking that I was supposed to do yesterday
    • hokey cokey dry on airers
    • competitions
    • surveys
    • meals from plan
    • really needs to be a nsd today
    • fit widget that came in post to shower to reduce water useage.
    • try contacting college again to book cheap facial
    • keep in contact with freinds and family through free texts, free calls , email and facebook.
Think thats all for today. will be glad when this month is over but staying positive :)
