We are finally about to start packing pending the exchange this week :T :T :T :T
We've got plenty of boxes, does anyone know a really good cheap source of brown packing tape, those tape gun thingies and bubble wrap? OH wants to get it from the storage company but I'm guessing they'll be a bit pricey.

I've managed to get things like that from some of the many "£1 shops" around about. Some of them seem to specialise in "stationery" type items. Wilko and Partners are also quite good.
Do you know anyone who works in a large office/company who could salvage used buble wrap, padded envelopes, brown paper. Argos sells large strong self assembly lidded boxes at £10.99 for 10 - useful as you list the contents on the outside .
Good Luck with the move.0 -
Bubble wrap - try a garden centre - if you have an independant one they may be willing to do deal on a roll (they sell it to protect plants over winter)
Packing tape and guns - look in your local directory for an office stationers - give them a ring and see if they'll do you a cash sale deal if you go and collect it in person. (our office suppliers do 6 x 66m rolls for around £11 and the cheapest gun is about £10) (remember they will quote you prices ex-vat so you need to add 17.5% to compare to retailers)Adventure before Dementia!0 -
Try eBay, a user called stuartavo
I've bought from her loads of times, she's cheap, really friendly and the shipping is VERY quick.0 -
We are also due to exchange and like you, have been after packing materials. I bought one of those tape gun thingys from Staples for £5.99 today - it comes with two rolls of tape. Got a deal on some bubble wrap too!
I've heard that the best time to hunt for boxes is when the supermarkets are re-stacking their shelves late at night - so if you're having trouble sleeping, why not visit a 24hr ASDA or Tesco
Good luck with your move!0 -
If you know anyone who works on a building site, there are usually large quantities of bubble wrap in those places. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Save on the bubble by using tea towels, towels, face cloths, pillow cases etc0
