PCWORLD trouble...HELP

Hello,
I purchased a laptop from pcworld last feb, back in december still under 12 month warrenty i took it back and told them about lots of problems it was having, no windows apps working, no internet working, no volume icon etc....
They kept it for a few days, said they had fixed it and 2 hours later everything started going wrong again.
I took it back in and said it still not working, they sent it of and replaced the hard drive, now its doing it again BUT now the laptop turns itself of while you are in the middle of using it, im so annoyed, do i have to let them "fix" it for a 3rd time or am i entitled to a refund or credit note.
I really need a laptop that works, i am out of warrenty now but the work carried out is covered for 3 months which i am still in.
Can i go back to the stor and demand they replace it and say im not happy for them to try and fix it for a 3rd time?
Many thanks
Sarah

im not sure about the refund but I think you could be entitled to a replacement - Although I would take it back for them to attempt to repair it one last time- but I would state when you take it back that this is the last time you are willing to accept a repair as you are not getting any use out of itDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0

SOGa does not set limits on how many times something can be repaired so no theres no legal president. Speak to PC world and ask though cos it gnna be costing them more to repair than replace if it keeps breaking.0

Hi,
thanks for your reply, to be honest I have had enough, pc world hardly admit there is ever a problem.
Do I have any consumer rights on getting a like for like replacement?0 -
Its quite convenient that you took it back just within the warranty and that each time they repair it that it miracously breaks again in a few days.0

Do you ever read posts through thoroughly before posting? As the OP said it broke down 2 hours after having the laptop returned, I would hardly call that just before the warranty runs out, either that or PC world are now issuing 2 or 3 hour warranties.:)
I've been reading alot of posts recently where you put your two pennies worth in just to antagonize the OP. Can you please explain why you feel the need to do this, as it's very immature. Mind you I read another post today where you mention your age, so that explains alot.0 -
I can't understand why MSE haven't banned him yet - he's barraging the forum on a daily basis with wildly incorrect "legal advice" and unhelpful snide remarks such as the one above.0

There's plenty of precedent.
The House of Lords judgment in J & H Ritchie v Lloyd is the current authority on this.

In a nutshell, buyers now have the right to be given information on the extent of the defect, prior to accepting a repair, so they can make their own decision on whether to accept a repair or a replacement.0 -

I may have read it wrong, but I think that was more to do with the right of rejection, and how asking or accepting a repair does not affect the right to reject. OP would be very much unable to reject under SoGA after so long.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -

The reasoning couldn't bring the laptop back before is because I have moved to Spain!!!!! Wasback for Christmas, took it in for repair then it broke a few hours later.....not that I have to explain myself to you!!
It has broken again after having new hard drive fitted, am flying back to uk on thursday so can bring it back with me and wanted to know my rights.
At the end of the day a warrenty works for 12 months, are you saying if a pc breaks after 11 months you should say "oh well 1 month left....best not bother"
I don't think so, go get a life you judgemental waste of space and time0
