Portable DVD players and US TV

Hope this is the right thread.
For ages I have been thinking about getting a little portable DVD player for when I go on holiday. I am going to Florida for a fortnight and will be staying in my parents holiday home over there :j
They have a TV but no DVD. Presuming I get a multi-region player, would it be possible to connect it to the TV, or will it not work because of the whole PAL v NTSC thing?

You should have no problems at all playing your region 2 DVD's on an American TV, just change the PAL to NTSC.
However, your DVD player will need to be Multi Regional to play US Region DVD's on the NTSC setting
I hope that's clear !!!
Depending on your route / Airline for the flights, try and get a seat on the plane that has a power socket - that way you watch the films that YOU want to watch on the flight.
I usually fly AA on the Man - Chicago route and they have no seat back TV's .
MTC

Another option is to buy one in the States - they really are as cheap as chips and if you are feeling generous leave it with your folks. On the other hand make sure that it supports PAL and bring it home with you.
Personally Gemmaj, i'd buy one over here (try and get one with 2 x batteries then you're not stuffed on the flight) and then you've got the best of both worlds. Ohh and get a bigger screen - you won't regret it.0
