I am looking to purchase a new scanner mainly to scan negatives and slides,
and have been looking at the following scanner for about £60:-
CanoScan 4200F - it's features are:-
3200 x 6400dpi with 48 bit colour depth
FAU for up to 4 x 35mm transparencies
Super-fast scan engine
USB 2.0 Hi-Speed
QARE Level 2 dust/scratch removal
Complete software package
4 EZ buttons
Fast Multi-photo mode
Advanced Z-lid
Can anyone say if this is a good choice or is there any other suggestions?

A Slide scanner will probably produce much better results, if you are only going to be doing slides etc..
