Which CC for booking flights to NZ??

Hi everyone. I'm going to be booking flights to New Zealand shortly, for my honeymoon. I'm thinking of applying for a credit card with a 0% interest rate on purchases for as long as possible, and booking the flights on that.

Anyone recommend a good card for the job? :p

If you look at Martin's website, he will give you all the ones which offers good deal at the moment...
  • You might even want to consider getting two cards. Apply first for one with a long "interest free on purchases" period for the tickets. Then apply for a second one with a zero or low forex charge for use whilst in NZ. (Santander ZERO, Post Office, Nationwide Visa.)

As far as I know, there isn't a single card that does both, though I think ZERO and Post Office do offer 3 months on purchases.

If you fly alot and you intend to use Air New Zealand, consider getting a BMI MBNA card. There is a welcome air mile bonus which is put onto your BMI Diamond Club account. BMI and Air New Zealand are both part of Star Alliance so you can put any airmiles gained with your flight onto BMI. Note that you do not have to buy the ticket on your MBNA BMI card in order to get the airmiles, though if you do you will get extra.

Applying for 3 cards is probably a bit OTT though (and results in 3 searches of your file).

    List of 0% purchase cards:

Tesco Clubcard is a good one - don't buy forex on it or it'll count as a cash advance (like all other cards).
