I don't think will disconnect anything as the E10 meter must still record the consumption during its 3 hour period. What they can do is add the E10 reading to the Daytime reading and pay for both at Daytime rates.

Sorry, I meant that if the E10 meter was replaced by an E7 meter and originally it had 2 supply numbers then one of them may have to be disconnected.

Re your Economy 10 or "HeatWise" as Powergen call it

E10 meters are not the same as Heatwise meters, however they do work on a very similar basis and are designed for customers with no gas central heating. But heatwise meters are only found in the East Midlands area and have 4 or 5 readings.

Thanks to all who have assisted.

I am going to ring Powergen and try to get her changed to E7.

She is hardly ever at home during the day, so E7 seems to be best for her.

E10 Meters do have 2 supply numbers.

If she wants to change supplier the best thing to do is to have the meter replaced for an E7 meter.

Difference as someone mentioned is E10 have Day, Night and Stored Heat plus you pay a standing charge as well. So can work out more costly if she is a low energy user.

Powergen may charge you £35 for a meter replacement. Depends on who you speak to. E10 Meters will need the Stored heat Meter removing and the MPAN for it De-Energised. Its rare for anyone to want this doing so not many people at powergen are aware of how removal of this meter takes place. If you have any issues Send me a message and I can look into it for you.

On a Seperate Issue. Heatwise is different to E10 whoever mentioned that. Heatwise has 5 Seperate Readings that need to be taken.

I like economy10 because of the afternoon top-up,so my house isn`t freezing on winter afternoons.
This week,I got a letter from Powergen offering me the chance to fix my elec charges until 2010.Tried to take them up on the offer, only to be told that this offer does not apply to economy10.
