Hi nes, I have spoken to an American guy I know and he says something about being able to refinance due to hardship and that there are groups about that can help but he is unsure of any, esp as we dont know what state you are in as state law can differ.

I have sent a message to a fab American lawyer I know and the sod when offline just as I sent it so hopefully he will get back to me soon and see if he can shed any light on the situation.

Hope you get the help you need hun, sounds like you have had a bad enough time as it is :(
Work like you don't need money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
And dance like no one's watching

  • Good day to you ,
you dont know me but a friend asked me to look in on you ,
yes im from the Us ,yes you can refinace due to hardship but there are some major questions needed to be asked
    What state are you in?
do you have a job, lenght of service there ,what is you credit score like?
is there any chance of a co/signer/parent or relitive
or just somebody to stand up for you (on paper)
state agencys dont care and if you own a house and a car you cant even get welfare ,so your better off with a private firm
and contact the free legal aid dept for the state for which you live
and if all elese fails tell em you undergoing bankruptcy and you will give them the case number when they asign it to you and that will give you a couple more weeks
But first things first is you have to have some sort of income !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and if you need me just google my name

There's an organisation like to CCCS (consumer credit counselling service). I think the name of the US organisation is also very similar. I'm sure there is also an organisation with a similar name to national debtline. You could try on google - I tried searching but with being in the UK all the UK results come up first.

Try these! They look like a fee free company!

This is a non profit organisation.

    http://www.consumercredit.com/

There are also links on this page

    http://www.finishrich.com/free_resources/fr_credit.php

These links are on a page for credit card debt - but if the motleyfool site is anything like the one over here there should be a forum, information and links to useful organisations.

Nes - you have a difficult situation, and it is so dependent on your current location. Depending on the accident, and the liability coverage available there, you may be able to obtain a settlement from the auto insurance company. If that is not an option, your next option is to consider filing a chapter 13 Bankruptcy which allows you to still pay the debt, but do it over your time frame. However, this is also dependant on your income and your other debts. A third option, again depending on your debt, is to file a Chapter 7 and reaffirm the house. This is dependant on the value of the home, the value of the debt, etc., so you should see a bankruptcy attorney in your state. Most will offer a free consultation, and many will let you make payments on their fees if you ultimately file. There are other options available which would delay a foreclosure by the mortgage holder, but these are really dependant on the state. If you want to chat specifics, send me a PM, or send one to my friend iwanttosave, and she'll let me know. I do wish you the best of luck, and while this is a difficult time for you and easy to simply ignore the problem in hopes it will go away, you MUST be proactive at this time to see what you can do. I wish you the best of luck.

Currently I am a student this is my senior year, so no right now I am not making any income. I am looking into the suggestions that you have given me, and hopefully one of them will be successful. I spoke to the insurance company and we had liability only, however because this was not my husbands fault I have set an appt with a lawyer next week. But by the time I get any sort of settlement it will be to late. But my husband had three website, of which I have placed on parked.com. Every time some clicks though I make something like .10, so now I just need to find a way that I can get free traffic to them, and get click thoughs. Maybe I can generate enough traffic that I can pay the mortgage. So wish me luck
