  • My mom got a bolognase stain out yesterday that she had be trying to get out for weeks of a white t-shirt.
I think she used oxi-action with boiling water and a fair bit in a bucket then prodded it and swished it round with the potatoe masher (this was the closest thing lol) left it to sock and it has eventually come out.
Don't know if it will work or not lol but worth a try if you have any about:o

if you can find it - biotex is really good even on old stains. if not i suggest you use the cheapest bio washing powder you can find and soak in a strong solution!

99p store has biotex in at the moment and they have both the powder and the spray bottle x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

  • You could try adding a cup full of soda crystals to the detergent drawer, then washing with your normal detergent - they do seem to lift lots of things.

Or you could try pouring neat dettol onto the stains, letting it soak in a bit, then washing with your normal powder.

And my other suggestion is a product called De-Solv It, which is a spray that you apply before washing. It removed a heavy tar stain from my DD's coat and I now swear by it. Tesco sell it with the "laundry aids".
  • This is something that worked for me BUT I'm suggesting it with a disclaimer and I'd only ever do it on white clothes. I got something on a white work shirt which left a small yellow stain. I tried everything to get it off but it was on there permanently. So, I decided to have a go with some bleach on a cotton bud - the shirt was 'ruined' anyway so I didn't think it'd make it any worse. I very carefully dabbed the stain with the neat bleach, and once the stain had gone I rinsed the shirt for ages. Then I washed it straight away. The stain went and *touch wood* the shirt was and still is fine. As I said I wouldn't ever do this on coloured clothes but on a white shirt that was stained anyway, it worked perfectly well.

Oooh thanks! I've not tried any yet, will prob have a go at the weekend as I work full time. I'm quite excited now! I do have 2 white t shirts, 3 if you count the oil one, with marks on, so I will have a go thanks.

  • I use undiluted stardrops on my stains - straight on the clothes, then also a little stardrops in the drawer with the powder. That works for me.
  • I have a DD that slops food even at her age! I have tried allsorts - the easiest way is to catch teh stain while new and put some liquid washing liquid on it then wash soon.

Recently I have tried Doktor Power fabric cleaner and whilst I hate JML they are overpriced on teh whole - this works.

When my kids were small if I couldn't shift the stain by washing then I'd cover it with a badge, buttons, a sew on 'patch' etc ;)
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
