Pc Monitor stop working, opinions please

Hi just looking for opinions please, Bought a pc lcd monitor from pc world about 3-4 years ago. Cost around £190 for it so it wasn't cheap. It just stopped working today, not really sure if its worth contacting the manufacturer ? as it's well over the 12 months guarantee I know i'm not really entitled to anything. But have noticed from threads on here that sometimes manufacturers will repair or gesture even its its well over the 12 months.

Is it worth my time contacting them ?

You'd have no recourse with the manufacturer, only the retailer.

But, after almost 4 years, it'll get increasingly difficult for you to prove that the fault was inherent from production and not caused by accident or misuse. It can be done, but is it worth your time?

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Thats just what I was thinking, prob not worth putting my time into. Might just take it to a repair shop and find out whats went wrong with it and more importantly how much its gonna sting me to fix it as it maybe cheaper just to pick up a cheap monitor

The average PC monitor will see a lot of use over 3-4 years, at our work for example, 4 years is considered to be a good lifespan.

I'd agree with the previous poster that given the age, it is unlikely that you will be able to prove that it was anything other than "old age" that caused the failure.

And 3-4 years ago, £190 for an LCD monitor was cheap (although £190 is still a lot of money).
