Car insurance quote showing up on my credit file??

i used confused.com the other day to get a quote for a car that i may buy.

ive just went to my account on creditexpert and its showing up as 2 searches :mad:

will this affect my credit score in anyway?

I've had the same thing when using confused.com

1 x royal and sun alliance unrecorded enquiry

1 x rbs churchill insurance quotation

2 x rbs privillage insurance quotation

1 x agp bell insurance - unrecorded enquiry

I won't be using confused again because of this.

They do not do full credit search, it is generally identification checks which has no impact on your credit report

If under "type" it says "credit check" then yes it will but I think this is unlikely.
More likely it says "unrecorded enqiury" or "identity check" which does not affect you ability to get credit.

Those have NO impact whatsoever on any credit file, you are the only one to see them, potential lenders will not

Do they count in the number of searches recorded ? I have 1 search in the last 3 months but showing 10 in the last year ??

No it does not count in your total of searches as long as it Identification checks or insurance quotation then you have nothing to worry about

So on credit expert only I can see these ? I'm trying really hard to get everything down to zero bar my 1 credit card and mortgage.

As I said when it is Identification or Quotation then you are the only one to see them and do not count as full credit search
