Change my IP location

Hi I am a big star trek fan and own most of the DVD's but I have a few episodes I am currently missing, I saw on the internet you can watch them online at http://www.cbs.com/classics/star_trek/video/ However it does not seem to be avalible in the UK. Is there a UK site you can legally watch these (Not illigal sites please) or can I change my location some how so the site thinks I am in the US? Any ideas? Cheers Guys

    Try this http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html

you may need a couple of tries before you get an ip allocated to the right country, i`ve not used this for years as i`d forgotten about it until i saw this thread.

It used to work well so hope that it still does.

Bear in mind that when using a proxy service you're routing all the data through a third party, so there will be an increase in latency, and if it's a popular proxy or one without much bandwidth to start with, it might be unusable slow for streaming video. Also, any data you route through the proxy can be read and logged by the proxy administrator, so don't use it for anything secure.

Won't be doing anything other than watching :) I only use my laptop to watch stuff online my desktop for everything else. I will try a few proxies and see what happens

As mentioned by darksun, the latency will be !!!!!! and it's unlikely you'll be able to watch them because of this. If you do manage to get a connection you'll probably need to let it buffer for something ridiculous like 1-2 days before being able to watch it.

You might want to try some of the TV and movie streaming sites.

As an example of how good they can be, I watched the entire series of 24 season 7 from a couple of these sites months before it was even aired in the UK. They were full quality too, not some guy with his camcorder pointed at his tv.

It's a bit of trial and error finding good and fast links, but it can definitely be done. I'd advise avoiding anything with a Tudou or Youku link as these are Japanese sites that are VERY slow to stream and will have Japanese subtitles all over the vids/progs. Megavideo links are usually good but they only allow you something like 100 mins viewing time before it shuts you off and you must either pay or wait for several hours before you can watch anymore. Like I say, it's trial and error.

All these links are from ovguide.com (an excellent site for your bookmarks) so you can try other links from there, but these are the ones I personally find to be the better ones for TV progs/movie streaming (all completely legal sites) -
