Pre-Approved Offers

Hi

If you have any pre-approved offers from RBS, how do you find out about them?

is it in branch? On the internet Banking?

Thanks!

They do but staff shouldn't tell customers about them. Everything is subject to application with rbs so even pre approved offers can decline.

Kind of negates the point of "pre-approved" then??
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

Is there not a code number 99 that can be entered into the computer which takes you to a screen which gives an indication of what is likely to be offered?

If it does, can this not be seen in a SAR? Are the bank obliged to explain what things mean in a SAR, i.e. if it appears as a code rather than an understandable description.

If you apply online for an overdraft with NatWest (RBS) when you get to the section about how much you'd like they 'suggest' an amount which would be a suitable maximum based on your account conduct / activity.

This comes before any sort of confirmation so you are at liberty to cancel the application if you are only looking out of curiousity.

Also, whenever I have applied for an overdraft [well] within the suggested amount I have never been externally credit searched (i.e. through the CRAs). This is NOT to say that this would be the same for everyone, just my experience.
