Paid By Paypal Though Not In Listing?

Have just sold an item which was listed as payment method - postal order only. I have just had the buyer pay me via paypal. How have they been able to do so when the option isnt available in the listing and is there anyway i can get him to buy by the method that i have stated?
Wouldnt normally bother me by him paying by paypal except the item it is for isnt actually mine its for a friend

  • Maybe they have seen your email address & tried to make the payment through that? Just refund the payment & explain to the buyer you don't take Paypal.

Im just worried now incase anyone else does this with any of the other listings i have up, i thought if it wasnt available as an option in the listing then they couldnt pay that way?

Although you've stated you're not taking Paypal on this auction, do you have it set as a default payment for your usual auctions? If so, the listing has probably displayed that you take Paypal and given the winning bidder your details.

I did that once by accident - I felt awful, so I sent the seller £1.50 to cover her fees.
