Hi
Anyone with a young person railcard, elderly railcard ect can purchase OFF PEAK tickets however it is valid for all trains including PEAK trains.
However worth just asking at the station before hand to confirm!
Simon"No likey no need to hit thanks button!":pHowever its always nice to be thanked if you feel mine and other people's posts here offer great advice:D So hit the button if you likey:rotfl:0 -

I would say Preston to Manchester(probably local bus maybe?), Manchester to Nottingham (about 15 quid roughly on a youngs persons), Nottingham to Mansfield (you can get the 3a/3b bus and its 2.70 one way I think it was) as it will all link by train. Or alternatively the national express bus would probably be your cheapest option, but try and book to/from your nearest biggest station as it will throw up your cheapest single prices:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

I am guessing you are not local to either destination, or have lots of time on your hands?
It is around 25 miles from Preston to Manchester, and an hour on the train. Taking local buses between the two would take a long time!
If you get the train into Nottingham, it would be madness to walk right the way across the city centre to Vic Centre and then take the slowest bus! The train takes 40 mins, the bus takes over an hour and a half.
I am wondering if the OP has made their journey now. OP, could you update us please?Gone ... or have I?0 -

I guess you can still avail a discount , just inquire all about it in the station and present your card. Meanwhile, if you have plenty of time before or after the interview, you can roam around the place and have fun.0
