USA Green Waiver Form Left In Passport Help

We returned from the US last week and had a v harrassing time at check in. 3 year old crying cos she wanted to stay and very slow check in clerk. While we had been lining up a lady had checked all the passports and popped the Virgin sticker on the back of each passport. At this point I mentioned that the Visa slips for each of us were still in my DH passport and she said thats okay it will be removed at check in. WHile we were checking in I mentioned this to the clerk and he said I know I will deal with it but it wasn't until we arrived home, recovered from the jet lack that my DH noticed that the tear of slips had not been removed in the US. Phoned Virgin who were no help, tried the American Embassy but there line was £1.20 per minute. Had anyone else had this problem. I know we need to send these slips on but where too??? Any advise would be much appreciated.

    Hi there.

The same thing happened to me and my partner when we went to New York in 2002. I looked on the US Embassy website and I found that I had to send off proof that I was outside the US before and after my trip. This involved sending a bank statement showing transactions in the UK, then in the USA and then back in the UK again. I sent everything off to the Dept of Homeland Security (I think) in London, Kentucky.

    Don't worry Minnie -

They will just apply to the UK and get you extradited to serve 2 years for Immigration offences.

The US are offering free all inclusive holidays to lots of people now - you may be next ........

I had one of these forms in my passport for years as I got it crossing from Canada to US and upon exit, I said that I could be coming back into the US and they left it.

At US immigration several years later, it was pulled out and thrown away.

This was all pre-9/11 but I'd say, worst case, leave it in and let them get it next time you go Stateside :)
In the United Kingdom 200,000 people are bitten by dogs every year and some people will die as a result. Of those bitten, 70% are children... So the question has to be asked....... Has the time come to ban children?

It was the airline that created the problem by forgetting to remove the slip. It is therefore their responsibility to sort it out. Call them and give them grief. Let them go through the hassle of proving that you left the country.

One thing it does prove is the merit of keeping hold of boarding cards for a few weeks after the flight. As a veteran of hundreds of flights I have done this for years and it has occasionaly been useful to have the boarding card as proof of having taken a particular flight.

I'd say not to worry at all.
I frequently fly to US, and have had green card left in my passport quite a few times now!
First time I was worried, but now they just go in the bin.
BUT ... next time I go, I always take a bank statement with me as proof I was home, but I've NEVER ever been questioned at all about it.

Surely the fact that you've just hopped off a plane from England proves that you actually left the country previouslY? or am I missing something??
