credit card application help.. re addresses

Afternoon all! Back with another question re cc's lol

I think background info would be needed to answer so will be brief but give as much info as poss!

Me and ex split 10 months ago... thankfully on better terms than when we were together! As we have 2 kids together he couldnt afford child support and to live in our house, and we dont want to sell atm as we are still tied in with mortgage and fees for exit are £1,000's also, as i am a mature student my income doesnt enable me to have a mortgage atm So, he moved out and is back with his mum and dad and i am in the house with the kids until my wage is enough for me to buy him out/buy on my own. He pays mortgage instead of child support which suits us just fine atm

1. Mortgage is in his name soley (due to me moving jobs when moving, at advice of FA) but we have a document from solicitor to protect me that state that the house deposit (£30,000) came from the sale of my own home and that if the house is sold or we split i get the £30,000 back plus 50% of any profit .

2. Mortgage and sky are in ex's name as he bought our eldest sky as a xmas present in 2008 so he pays the bill for that.

Now my questions!

1. When i fill out applications for credit (of any form) am i a 'homeowner' or 'other' I know i am not on mortgage but we have this official document from solicitor

2. My ex has been saying hes been reading on here re N Hunter etc and he is confussed /concerned that our situ will flag him ie mortgage and sky at 1 property but all bills/banking etc at his parents home. He has had credit since he moved ie a 0% cc and a catalouge account all ok at his mums address but is there anything he can he do to protect himself getting flagged CIFAS? or is it not as much as an issue as he thinks

TIA

    1. Your home owner status hasn't changed as far as I can see. There's a technicality that he's not living there any longer, but if you previously put home-owner then I'd continue doing that - even though your credit report won't show a mortgage in your name.

    2. Can't see it being a problem. It's like those of us with BTL properties, we have mortgages at other addresses than the one we live at.
