((Hugs))to Knitty; hopefully we can put a smile on your face & that won't cost you a thing
Tell me about menu planning GTS :embarasse I keep tryingI've found a way that kinda helps but wouldn't do for the true professional planner
Mark down nos 1 to however many days I'm doing, usually the month. Then I circle the days I already know will need a quicker meal, something like sausage & chips that can be bunged in the oven for example & put ideas there first. Next I fill in all the other gaps with ideas as they come & finally jiggle them around so we don't have chicken one week, beef based the next & jacket spuds another
I don't stick to it--other than the days I've circled as such--so I can take advantage of bargains in the shops as they appear. It also helps when I'm staring at an aisle stuffed with food & I haven't a clue what to get for tea, as I keep the list in my purse & tick off the ones we've eaten...does any of that make sense
As an example, my list would look like this:-
1.Lasagne
2.Chicken wraps
3.Chops
4.Soup & hot dogs
5.Roast Chicken
6.Chicken casserole
7.Toadies
8.Jackets
9.Fishfingers, chips & beans
10. Roast
11.Cold meat & Mash
12.Cottage pie
& a couple of days later would be like this:-
1.Lasagne
[STRIKE]2.Chicken wraps[/STRIKE]
3.Chops
[STRIKE]4.Soup & hot dogs[/STRIKE]
5.Roast Chicken
6.Chicken casserole
7.Toadies
[STRIKE]8.Jackets[/STRIKE]
9.Fishfingers, chips & beans
10. Roast
11.Cold meat & Mash
[STRIKE]12.Cottage pie[/STRIKE]Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

I'm in again for March.
Sticking to my 11 (despite managing 15 for Jan, and already being on 15 for the shorter month of Feb).
Did debate increasing my target, but I have two weeks off work (one week either side of a week in work with extra hours!) and I'm not sure whether that will mean an increase or decrease in NSD - hoping increase I have a lot of work to do around the house and garden, none of which should really mean having to buy anything as far as I can tell at the moment.
I do have a few days out though (almost unheard of for me, then 3 in a month!!), and will certainly be spending on one of those as it's GDs birthday treat (circus visit - tickets already paid for - with a 'fast food' meal afterwards  ), so I'm not sure how those will impact either !?!?!?!
BUT, I am going to change my NSD counting to include everything apart from regular bill payments. Up to now it's only been groceries, but I should be able to make 11 even by including toiletries/cleaning, and 'other' (which is my more random shopping such as household bits, tools, books, DVDs, CDs, non-work clothes/shoes etc). Counting this way would have given me 14 in Jan (instead of 15), and I'd currently be on 13 for Feb (again instead of 15).Cheryl0 -
Helloo, is it nearly March already?!
I will pledge 18 NSDs for this month, have 2 birthdays to buy for this month and Mothers Day of course, so it might be a bit ambitious but this is a challenge after all.All the coffee in Columbia won't make me a morning person...

Hello everyone!
Could I join please for March? I'm trying for 12 days and will need to be organised for a change. I tend to do a shop and then forget to buy loo rolls, so i'm going to be writing lots of lists and avoiding the shops.
Good Luck for March!Starting again and working towards our new df life!A very proud forces wife0 -
I'd like to join - my month will start on Friday so March will actually have 33 days for me. It sounds ambitious because I've only just joined this challenge, but I really don't see why I can't manage 23 days without spending, if I'm careful about when I buy groceries etc. And I really need the money!
So 23 NSD for me pleaseApril Grocery Challenge: £80/£64.39
March No Spend Days: 15/70 -
Can I be popped down for 15 please? I'm upping it from the usual 12 with equal amounts of ambition and necessity!Pround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

The list totally makes sense BigMumma and I think that may work better :j
I have days where I know time is low so can do the quick option or slow cooker option. Can then do a list as above and pick from the list as we are going! The thing I found with meal plans before was I got to the day but then though "I dont fancy that" and so the plan would go out the window!
Many many thanks for sharing! I'll give that a go (off to write up list)
Really want to get motivated! My loan is paid off in 12 months and hopeing to throw everything I have at the CC's to get shot of them too0 -
Rainy I love the phrase in your signature! "The second mouse gets the cheese"
