Mobile home/caravan on holiday park

We are currently undecided what to do. About 7 yrs ago, we sold our house and invested the money. This was due to the fact that my wife was allocated a house with her job. Unfortunately she became registered disabled as she lost independence at balance. Her contract with the local authority ensured we were allocated a house (which we are quite satisified with and may purchase).
Having said that, for the last six months, have deliberated over buying a mobile home/caravan (6 miles away) in a holiday park. We are prepared to limit our spending up to £45,000. We have seen one that is ideal and well positioned in a desirable area and less than a yr old.
The doubt comes here:-
Vans decrease in value over night.
Both of us have retired on the grounds of ill health so should we embark on such a venture.
Neither of us would retain the van without the other.
Vans must be removed once they are 15 yrs old (no problem there as we would be too old by then)
The park is a water park and has been flooded once.
We would not see our grandchildren quite so much.
So, we don't drink, don't drive, don't smoke but enjoy holidays where-ever they may be. The thought of 1/2/3 weeks away and then home for a week before returning to the van from is appealing.
Endless discussions and loss of sleep is the order of the day at the moment.

We've made the decision. We have decided to make the purchase and not spent no-where near as much as we had anticipated. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
