As I mentioned in another thread I'm teaching myself to plaster, I was wondering whats the best plaster or at least what people would recommend for skim coating old uneven walls that have been stripped of wallpaper? I've tried doing an alcove in Wickes finishing plaster which hasn't come out too bad (considerin git was my first attempt) but I seriously know nothing about the different plasters so recommendations would be great, thanks:)

I would go for Thistle multi-finish or board finish. You can get them at B & Q for around a fiver a bag.0
