Hi All,
My son has recently been browsing the web using the PC. I am not sure what has happened by now when logging on all I see is the background picture on the desktop and nothing else and then the PC automatically logs off the user. Ctrl-Alt-Del does nothing and I am at a loss to what to do.
Any suggestions are welcome
Thanks

Boot into safe mode, and if you can use internet explorer then log into your reimage.com account and start a repair... you need internet access to select Safe mode with networking.
I have mixed feelings about reimage.com - it only works for XP and I have a 50% success rate... it restores your win xp windows system files / dll and gets xp up and runing again but keeping your data intact.
Obviously, you do this at your own risk - may make it worse which will require a re-install of xp (only happened once for me out of 20 repairs!).
Let me know how you get on0 -
Have you got your Windows CD?0

Thanks PCrease, but this does not work as I cannot get past the log on screen.0
