I'd go along with Darksun's advice....and I'm glad that I took my Netbook along with me. It's been invaluable.
That and the unlocked Mobile Internet USB modem made life a lot easier. Researched and booked accommodation and car hire along the way. Stored 14GB of video and pics. Did my banking.
Don't listen to the naysayers. You'll be safe and sound whilst using your secure banking website alongside mobile Internet.
As to forgetting online banking whilst abroad.... nonsense. I use five banking websites regularly whilst abroad, with no problems at all.0 -

For an extra layer of security, you could VPN into a system at home (using an encrypted VPN link) and then bank from there.
