Talk Talk - nusence calls all through the night

Hi everyone,
Bit of a rant and looking for advice please.

I keep getting phone calls 3am 4am 5am 6am 7am basically all the time for people asking for a taxi service. I have searched my phone number in google and somebody (i think i know who) has put my phone number on directory enquire sites, all diffrent sites as a taxi company. I have contatced talk talk this mroning, first i was through to india, then africa and finally south africa. I am slightly deaf and can't understand these people. I fianlly got through to a uk based call centre but it was for broadband, and i was told that they wont change my phone number, i would have to have a second line installed and pay for the 2 and pay £60 for a new line. Why should i pay when i havent even advertised my number and i was supposed to be ex directory(well i thoguht i was)

So does anyone know what i can do?
I'm on the verge of telling them to stick there phone line where the sun doesn't shine, then they will have to chase me for there money. But that then becomes another debt which i dont want

Sorry for the rant and long post just really annoyed
Thanks
Lin

Approaching the sites which have incorrectly listed your number may be an idea

I had trouble with malicious calls and requested my number changed.

That seems a pretty irrational approach. The fact someone has listed your number (whether by accident or design) is not the fault of the network.

It probably will take ages for the numbers to stop being called - so a number change (usually free) is the only way to go - it will also stop the person you claim is doing all this from knowing what your replacement number is.

Talk Talk are really useless at customer service! We had a similar situation last year and really struggled to get them to do anything! Get back on and INSIST on them changing your number (they actually offered to do this for us, but I wanted the calls traced and eventually got that).

Personally, I then put my line rental back with BT who were superb at the time of the calls and who are the people who have to trace the calls anyway.

I suggest that you go to the TalkTalk web site and log-on and register in the forum section there - it's a similar style and layout as this one.

Post the details of your problem on the relevant page and it will be picked up by a TalkTalk representative who will then take up the problem and communicate with you quite quickly.

Do not post in an aggressive manner, just state the facts and that you feel that you have not been able to get a satisfactory response by phone.

I've successfully used this system in the past and understand that it is TT's preferred way of dealing with customers' problems.

Well it may be their preferred way but in order to be any kind of Customer Service it should be available in the way that a customer wants it to be and not in a way to suit the service provider!

Today, I got to the end of my tether and not knowing what else to do, I found the email address of Charles Dunstone their chief executive. I sent him an email expecting to hear nothing back.

In less than 45 minutes I received a reply from Charles Dunstone. He apologised and said he would get someone on the case. One hour later, a woman from TalkTalk phoned me and told me Mr Dunstone had instructed her to get a new router sent out to me next day delivery.

    Well done Mr Dunstone!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone having problems with TalkTalk could do worse than to email the man himself. PM me if you need his email address

I wonder if this might be of any use to you.
