Not happy with the style of new build

We were about to accept an offer on a part exchange from David Wilson Homes on our property to be a new house from them. The house went on release on Saturday but was sold STC today.
They have now offered us next door (for £5000 more, the robbers) but, although the shape, size, interior design is the same, the whole front of the house is rendered. I pointed this out to the sales person and asked, as they have not even started building yet, whether we could have the front without render, as the size of land etc does not change. She said no, as the appearance of the house is part of the plannning permission and cannot be altered.
I don't like the rendered look, and refuse to pay £330,000 for a house taht I don't like the look of, even if it's the same inside.
Have I got any options here?

Just say you are not interested at that price and walk away.
If you can put up with the looks then say you will offer £300k final offer.

The whole development is really popular - 5 of the 10 released on Saturday have gone already. We were 20th in the queue when the doors opened. Its where we want to move to, but resent paying for a house whose exterior is not to our liking. The next phase are likely to be 30k more expensive :mad:0

That may well be the case. Certainly, in a conservation area or AONB, then the external appearance is definitely in the planning permission. If you want to check, look on the local planning authority website to see if they display details of planning applications and the letters of permission. On the assumption that planning permission requires them to render, then "no". They are simply offering a house for sale and it's up to you to offer to buy it.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac
