any suggestions for a one night 'walking' break?

Hi, hoping someone has some suggestions to help, im looking at treating a friend to a 50th birthday night away for a treat.
Needs to be somewhere where we can put the walking boots on and walk!!
A hotel or a cosy b&b?
A local village pub for dinner where good food and real ale is served.
Ive seen a few idea's but wandering if anyone has any suggestions.

Lots of lovely B&Bs in North East Wales - try The Druids in Llanferres, for easy access to the Clwydian Range.

Anywhere in Ruthin would also be handy.

Re Fran's comment - people say they are going to 'Wales' as if it's two miles square. Plenty to explore for lots of walking holidays.

Yes it depends if you prefer the Snowdonia mountains, one of the varied coastal areas, or rivers, including towns with local interest or maybe a specific attraction. Lots of variety here!
