Car insurance cashback via comparison sites
Options
Hi, I was wondering regarding Martin's Cheap Car Insurance guide, is it possible to use the cashback sites such as topcashback/quidco with a comparison site? I ask because I have found the comparison sites to be cheaper than going directly through the dealer's website which is much more expensive!
thanks

Probably not, the likes of Quidco get a kickback from the insurers, as do the comparison sites, so I would guess it is one or the other, I cannot see the insurers paying out twice.0

Last year I followed Martin's list of comparison sites to work through car insurers. Once I'd found the best quote, I saved it, then went to that insurer via topcashback. Bought the insurance, got the cashback, happy bunny! :T0

You were lucky!
Normally to stand any chance of getting cashback from cashback sites you must NOT use a previously saved quote.
The sites all say you need to generate a new quote via their link, and complete the transaction using that quote.
Eg. This is from TCB's morethan insurance page:You must click through from Top Cashback and purchase immediately and wholly online - having not visited the retailer from other sources.
Had the cashback not turned up, then you wouldn't have had any chance trying to get it!0 -

It may depend on the retailer, a lot e.g. swiftcover don't say anything about not using existing quotes but some of the bigger payers say it's invalid if you do. Guess just have to read T+C carefully! Thanks0
