Girobank Account...

I was having a clear out in my loft and found a Girobank Chequebook and Card. I do not know if there is any money in it. Is there a way I can find out?

If it has been a long time since you used the account then it may have been made dormant by A&L. They will advise you of the procedure to re-activate it but not sure whether they will tell how much is in it before it has been re-activated.

When I tried to re-activate an old account with them, they sent me a form which they required to be signed by a professional person (doctor, teacher, lawyer, etc.) and as you are no doubt aware, these people can charge a fortune for their signature.

It could cost you more to get your money back than you have in the account.

    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.

I think the OP is more interested to compare chequebook holder thingies than to get any money back. Almost certainly be cheaper though. I don't know why the rest of us have bothered, really.
