PHI MPPI CI order of importance?

Hello all

Basically im 31 self employed and am about to buy an house with partner and baby,.

From the research ive done. Is it a good idea to have PHI and ONLY the uneployemnt side of MPPI,? As this only lass 12months anyway.

Definateley life assurance for the both of us? and only CI cover if i can afford it?

    I think you might be better off asking on the insurance boards.

    Ultimately, as much insurance as you can afford is a good thing. People insure their contents as a matter of course but yet the likelyhood of illness destroying your life is a lot higher than a one off claim on the contents insurance so I'd rate Critical Illness important on my list. And choose a decent product with a decent insurer - it's no good paying in if they won't pay out when you need them to.

    Also your partner, I'm presuming you're a man if you're even asking if cover should be for the both of you - consider how your life would be affected if something happened to your partner? You would at least have higher childcare costs if you were to carry on working and she weren't able to, so cover for her is important as well because it's covering you as well!

    As for moneysaving - don't automatically buy your insurance from your mortgage company, shop around.
    Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
