Monitor and sky box connection

I bought myself a 24 in monitor for my computer, a Samsung 2494HM.

I also have a normal SD sky box which I would like to connect to the monitor instead of the 14 in telly it is connected to.

However there is not a scart socket on the monitor.

There is a DVI digital socket, which is connected to the computer, a 15 pin, D-sub video socket and a HDMI socket, non of which are output by the sky box.

So can I connect the sky box to the monitor, and if so, how?

edit this is a spare sky box left over when I got sky+ it is used to watch sky in the bedroom nothing else is connected to it.

Does the monitor have VGA-In? If so http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hama-SCART-To-VGA-cable/dp/B0002W69MY may be suitable

Edit: Actually, looking at the reviews, it may not do what you want it to do, someone else wanted to hook up a Sky box to a monitor and had no success. Not sure what the output specs of SCART actually are, might be difficult to convert. What other outputs does your sky box have?

This will work, but you won't get any sound through the cable, you would need separate speakers plugged into the sky box, but not sure what the power output is so volume could be weak

Can I hijck this thread for another question??

Got myself a new 32" LCD TV and wondered whats better, picture wise to connect my Xbox:

    HDMI or VGA?

Currently I use VGA and I am very impressed (had an old Telly before). Would HDMI be a tiny bit better?

I saw on the Inet that VGA is analog and HDMI is digital.... WOuld I be able to see a difference?
