Isa over 60

I have cashed 4 Isas this year and reinvested in other savings. As I have not purchased an Isa for 2 years and do not have any at the moment, can I purchase 1 before April and 1 after April and if so how much?
Any help would be appreciated.

    No.

You can invest in 1 before the 5th April for this financial year 2009/10. And you can invest in another after 6th April for next years allowance 2010/11. If as the title suggests you are over 60 you could invest £5,100 now and another £5,100 after 6th April (assuming you are talking about Cash ISA's here).

You can save £5,100 in to a cash ISA either side of the tax year end.

You can also invest £5,100 in to a stocks and shares ISA either side of the tax year end (or double if you don't use your cash ISA allowance).

Take a look at www.moneyfacts.co.uk for best rates.

............. or, more correctly 'Yes'. As you then go on to confirm the OP can do precisely as s/he asked?

Sorry, Mikeyorks, but it is "No" - because the date quoted by the OP was 1 April not 5/6 April.

Sorry anamenottaken, read the OP again! "1 before April" and "1 after April".:D

Suggest that you read the OP again, the OP does not mention any specific date in April, the '1s' used refer to 'one' (ISA) not a date.

  • can I purchase 1 before April and 1 after April >>>

would of been clearer if lemontree had wrote "one" rather than use the number 1, but ha ho.
