A38 Bathpool, Taunton, Somerset.
Heading towards Taunton

I can only imagine it is past Monkton Heathfield junction towards Creech Castle stretch around the Jaguar and Land Rover Dealer

I always knew it as being 40mph once off the Dual Carriage way.

Annoyed as I was doing 37mph thinking it was 40.

does anyone know where i'm talking about?

    asked else where:

"t must have been a mobile speed camera partnership van parked up somewhere ... if you did'nt see it, it must have been hidden sneakily away

As you say, it looks like it has only recently gone to 30mph

These databases have it as 40mph :-

    http://www.radardetectors.co.uk/came...estershire.htm"

    grrr...

is there anything I can do?
what are the rules, as i was not sent a picture, evidence of which machine, calibration etc.?

I'm pretty sure it switches from 40 to 30 just past the Range Rover Garage and well before you reach the Milton Hill Junction.

i know past the range rover garage there's the residential area, with the little small back brigde there, so i know i would have been doing 30.

does it change quite quickly just after the garage?

i grew up there and been on those roads loads before ;-(

maybe i am in the wrong, but i feel it's another money making trap

if i knew it was a 30 then fair enough.

i would have thought though doing 37 in a 30 would be an automatic 3 points, but i have speed awareness i could go to at £60 cost.

Try driving on what you see, not on memory, it helps.;)

As you come off the dual carriageway it goes to 40. When you start through the built up bit it drops to 30. I think it stays at 30 all the way to the lights/intersection at Creech Castle. And they do have a fixed camera along the 30 stretch.

    it was a mobile trap

i know past the garage and through bathpool with housing is 30, but i want to know where it starts.

i'm a bit miffed. otherwise i must have been coming off throttle after the 40 coming down to 30, but obviously i didn't brake to reduce speed.

That doesn't alter the fact that the speed limit signs are not mobile.

    Pay up. move on.;)
