Theatre Tickets

We brought 4 x tickets to Oliver from a seller with 5000+ positive feedback, and thought the tickets would be safe. However when we arrived at the theatre we found out the tickets had been cancelled and resold. We were offered seats in a different (not same price) by the theatre, but the seats were not very good.
I am hopeful thet the seller will refund the tickets (although no response so far) but should I insist on a contribution to the wasted train fares etc

How long ago did you buy the tickets and how did you pay?

Ok in that case give the seller 48 hours to respond to your initial request for a refund and after that go to a chargeback for item not as described, keep everything in case you have to fight this with paypal.

As for additional compensation, you could try asking, but I'm not sure it would be successful at all although it would depend on the sellers explanation as to why the tickets ended up cancelled.
