Bathroom smell coming from corroded pipe?

Hi there - I recently put some sink unbloaker down the bath plug hole, left it for a couple of hours and rinsed out with hot water from the tap. I've done this before but usually rinse it out with a kettle of boiling hot water. The problem is that since I did it, there's been a hideous musty smell in the bathroom. I'm thinking that I didn't rinse it out properly and it's corroded the pipe which is giving off the smell.

Can anyone tell me if my theory makes sense please?

fill the sink right up & pull the plug.

If the smell continues something else is wrong & come back & post.

Loss of trap probably.

What cleaner was it & what is your pipe made of?

Could easily have gone through plastic pipework/couplings or knackered a seal if left in there for 2 hours and particularly corrosive. Really should be no more than 15 mins - 30 max!

Take the side off the bath and inspect the pipework underneath. Any leaks to be seen?
