Norton 360 - Disc or annual subscription?

For the past few years I have downloaded my security software directly from Norton - it is usually around £50.00.
My renewal is due and I wonder if it is more economical to just buy the norton 360 disc from PC world or similar, or continue to subscribe to Norton on an annual basis.
What are the pro's and cons??
Your views would be appreciated.

Thanks 996ducati- something I will consider.
The thing is, Norton360 has been a great product, but paying around fifty quid a year subscription seems a bit steep in comparison to buying the disc as a one off.
I do a lot of online purchases and banking and (touching wood) I have had no security issues since I have been using it, although having stated that, maybe it is worth it!
Any more thoughts would be appreciated.0 -
Paul_R We have a Tesco Extra 5 minutes away - I will check that out - I have not paid this years subscription yet as it is not due until next month.
996ducati Just checked out the link you posted re Microsoft security - I will also look into that as well.
Thanks Guys!0 -
TBH I'd dump norton and use either kaspersky, MS security essentials or avira antivir0

I dumped Norton for the free version of avast and have never looked back- it was the tech guys in pc world who advised me rather than spend £25 every year on Norton- The one time PC world have ever been helpful or right !0
