Returing Items?

Hey
I got a phone off eBay, and to cut a long story short i now want to return it. I got the phone today, and the return policy is to be returned within 7 days.
However, they didnt say about relisting fee's or postage, so im worried that ill be nearly £10 out of pocket just by returning it.
As the postage was £4 they will probably take that off the return price, and the relisting fee they will probably be overpirced as well (I know it only cost £2.50 to post + a brown sheet of paper)
I suppose thats my fault for returning the item, but im still not very happy about it.
Anyway, what i have come to ask is whats the best returns procedure?
I have emailed them to ask to return the item, and i paid by paypal so it should be fairly straightforward return. They sent the item with Royal Mail Recorded delivery, which only covers the item up to £30, although the phone is worth £70, do you think i should get special delivery just to cover myself, even though they didnt?
Also, do people leave negative feedback if i returned an item, even know that its in their returns procedure?
Cheers, Matt

What ever you do, do send it back by special delivery.0

If there is nothing wrong with the phone, why should the seller pay for you changing your mind.
As a seller I am getting more and more peeved with the number of people who want to return items. I normally cover everything except their return P+P unless there is a fault in which case I also refund buyers P+P.
This then leads to buyer creating a fault to secure the best deal for themselves.
So why do you want to return the item? Be straight abd honest with your seller.0 -
if the seller actually wants the phone back, then fine, post it special delivery, that covers you for up to £250 of loss
but, as Hintza says, who's in the wrong here?, why do you no longer want the phone?money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Matt,
You say....
"As the postage was £4 they will probably take that off the return price, and the relisting fee they will probably be overpirced as well (I know it only cost £2.50 to post + a brown sheet of paper)
I suppose thats my fault for returning the item, but im still not very happy about it."
While it may / may not cost £2.50 to post + paper...the seller had to take it to the PO etcetc...so £4 p&p for a phone is good.
...and you read the T&C of the sale...so why are you "not very happy"??? Why bid if you intend to mump on about the costs afterwards??
I think you've got a very fair seller personally....
Mikeif i had known then what i know now0
