 Send your landlord a recorded delivery letter before action, then take him to the small claims court. Wear on carpets is wear and tear, stains and burn marks are accidental damage. Even if there was accidental damage the landlord can only charge you for their second hand value not a full new-for-old replacement.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

 I did this to a dodgy landlord about 5 years ago, and got about 90% of my cash back.
 LL was such an idiot she still didn't pay up - until the bayliff came knocking. You WILL get your cash if the court orders it.
 Don't be scared, it's easy, and you'll come out of it knowing a bit more about how to look after your own affairs.
