A case for Constructive Dismissal?

How is this constructive dismissal? I don't understand
Sorry, I was asking if this could be considered as constructive dismissal on the basis that I only started looking for another job when our site closure was confirmed - having asked the question I now think that this is clearly not the case.0 -

Still sucks though, my advice take the new job and move on...0 -
Perhaps you are thinking of something else. Constructive dismissal is basically when an employee feels that they have no choice but to resign, because of their employers unreasonable behaviour or unreasonable terms. Past examples of constructive dismissal have been cases where an employee was demoted without cause, and another where a female employee was sexually harassed on a daily basis and her complaints were ignored by senior managers.
Unless you are confusing constructive dismissal with something else, it's difficult to see how the scenario you described could/would fall into that category.0 -
I like Anihilator's posting style - straight to the point without any fluffiness. I don't like fluffiness.
OP, were you actually given notice? If not, I cannot see any grounds for complaint. If anything, I am impressed that your employer is being honest about the future of your employment.
There's always one. Most of Anihilators advice is wrong. There's a difference between being straight and to the point, and being downright accusatory to the point of defamatory or libellous comments whenever somebody comes looking for advice.
The rule is "be nice to other moneysavers". It's not too much to ask people to be polite.0 -
How close are the contact centers and how similar is the work done by people in these centers.
You could(slim chance) argue/sugest to the other sites, that these centers should be considered as a group and those inthe other sites be offered relocation to the site that is staying open.
Consultation is about avoiding or reducing the impact.
Other places do his when shutting down multiple sites.
From your post about local goverment involvement I think you will find that there are some incentives to keep you place open or sell it off,
Have a look at the public docs/meeting minutes for those departments.
Any Welsh language skill in the group?0 -

A bad case of Acute Attention Seeking Behaviour. And it works a treat, as he gets lots of attention...0
