Epson "Error" message

Could anyone offer advice. Firstly my Epson stylus SX 405 said that paper had jammed, which it had not then it said "A printing error has occurred....turn off and turn on" but it just keeps giving me that message. This happens when the printer is disconnected from the computer and even after it has been disconnected from the mains for a while.
Apart from the "Off" button all other buttons give "Invalid Operation" message.
Cheers,
D.

Re-installation of the printer driver?0

If no suggestions work, you could try using a program called SSCServe if you have a red light flashing on the printer. I've used it to fix a couple of issuesOwner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

Thanks. I doubt if re-installation will work because it's not working even though it is independent from the computer but I'll try all your suggestions.0
