Hi
I am moving to Australia and I d like to pay of all my cc debt before I go. I am selling my house and want to use the profit to pay the debt.I have 2 ccs with MBNA (11k combined debt) and one with RBS (3,500). Does anyone know if cc companies are likely to accept a settlement offer?
I can afford to offer them about 80 % of the outstanding debt. Does any one have any experience of doing this or any advice/tips on how to negotate with the cc companies?
Thanks

You say "use the profit" from your house to pay the debt. But what about the rest of the proceeds? Or do you really mean surplus after a mortgage has been repaid?
I think they would expect repayment in full unless there have already been defaults.0 -
You borrowed the money, why don't you pay it all back?0
