Lidl Gardening Event!!!
Just Been to my local Lidl, outside on the notice board there was a big poster of gardening deals starting the 1st March & there where posters in store.
The posters showed all sorts of gardening tools, wellies, mats, materials, propagator sets & many more items at very good prices.
I asked the manager when the flyers are out & he said weds/thurs this week (obv store dependant) & i also asked if the compost would be in to coincide with the gardening event & he said he was sure it would be.
May help someone!

I had some seeds from lidl last year, however after reading how unethical this shop is I moved my business to my local garden center.
Apparently the cheap prices in their shops is partly due to the way they treat their employees.

I have seen simular stories before, but to be honest the other big stores are little better.
Just look how tesco et al treat the suppliers in particular the farmers. Not one of them pays enough per L of milk for the farmers to break even let alone make a profit.
Having worked at ASDA and knowing other mums who have worked at all the big stores I can safety say they all treat the staff like crap, non care about customer service and will rip off customers at every opportunity.
Go to local suppliers if you can, better quality, same prices (or sometimes cheaper-at the very least much better value even if a few pence more) plus much better for the local economy/suppliers/farmers and the enviroment.
I rarely shop on any big store any more only when I have no choice. But it is hard when they have the brilliant offers.
Sad state of affairs really and the recession will only make the employers worse and so many people will be lining up for the jobs if someone if forced out.

Feedback on some items...from personal experience, alas!
The rose arch is a bit flimsy and will rust through in a couple of years. Having said that I did buy six when they were reduced to £2 each and two of them plus some canes make a lovely bean tunnel!
The cold frame is utterly pathetic and it lasted two weeks on my (reasonably sheltered) allotment before it fell to bits, and that was with extra tie-down straps. Waste of money, totally.Val.0 -

Rose arch, bought one a few years back, survived until Jan this year when weight of snow caused the top arch to collapse due to rusting of connectors
However, I will get another one, but this time slap a lot of grease on the joints during assembly, which hopefully will reduce the corrosion
Fruit trees, they may fruit this year, but TBH you should not let them as it will weaken them, maybe just one apple or suchlike? When an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0
