No not yet but we get 1/2 a bin load of charity collection bags delivered every month from some obscure sounding charity - I think the last one was for shoes to help Eastern Europeans come over here & try to scam us all !Theres only two rules to remember1) Im always right2) See rule 10

If you receive a call from a charity you have never had any contact with and you are listed in the TPS, you can complain to:
The TPS - complaints.tpsonline.org.uk/Consumer/
The Fundraising Standards Board -frsb.org.uk/content/contact-us
and to the head office of the charity.0 -
My dad used to get it a lot from well known charities after he sent some money in and donated it via gift aid because they said ti would save them th etax.
It really upset my dad as they do play on the heart strings a bit, they also started sending him cards and things 'on approval' which he never felt comfortable about returning so always paid for.
My son got 'done' by chuggers as well when he was a student, we only found out when he came to us to borrow some money as his loan had run out and when we saw his bank statement he was paying them £30 a month which he couldn't afford.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Is it just me, or is it time for charities to be more regulated as some of them get away with some real bad practice?
I get loads of those plastic bags too, so I'm going to write to the head of each charity concerned and inform them that I am withdrawing the implied right of access to my property for their direct/indirect agents on penalty of a civil prosecution for trespass if they do not comply.0 -
Most of the plastic bags aren't from registered charities.0

The one thing I wish I had time to do would be to write to the charities that use chuggers and tell them that I will decline to support them in any way shape or form until they stop the practice of paying people a large amount of money to hassle me in the street.
I am on the board of a charity but I would resign my position if they voted to start doing that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I agree with soolin, this sort of fundraising method gives charity a bad name and I never feel guilty about ignoring chuggers or refusing to speak to doorstep fundraisers - and fundraising is part of my job.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -
As a chairty fundraiser myself it is something that we were approached to do by a data company that "had lists" of people who had made charitable donations in the past 12 months in East Sussex, in fact I have had a few like that
Its not something that I feel comfortable doing though so have never looked into it past the initial contact.:: No unapproved links in signatures please - MSE Forum Team ::0 -

I try & support animal charities usually the RSPCA so when last year a team of people wearing RSPCA bibs visited our area & I was interested.
The fella that called was a very smooth talking chap & I nearly signed up "just a few pounds a month by direct debit" the man pleaded but I was wary having been given such a hard sell - later I searched the web for information & discovered these sales ppl get something like 90% of whatever you pay for @ least the 1st year or two, something which I feel if most ppl knew would never sign up to.Theres only two rules to remember1) Im always right2) See rule 10
